The quote in the picture is something I ran across when we were planning to return to N.Y. a week and a half ago, and also in time to attend my Uncleās funeral in P.A.. Unfortunately, however, the north decided to suddenly have a ārealā winter. :-/ Seeing we couldnāt turn the water on at our home/campground until the evening temps are above 30 degrees, we had to change plans. PLOT TWIST. We returned to N.C. to bide time where it was warm.
Although I was really bummed to not attend my Uncleās memorial, lots of good things did happen the next week. I got some long, leisurely camping with my darling spiritual sister that was sooo relaxing and special. Then we got to see, and catch up with some really awesome people we havenāt seen in awhile. And on our way back north we saw the ocean one last time at the Outer Banks, and visited D.C. and the Smithsonian. Our final stop was to have a beautiful lunch with my Uncleās family before we finally headed home to brave just a couple days of cold before Vinny was able to turn the water on.
Gratitude List
Iām thankful for many things during these last 5 months of traveling. Among themā¦
- My precious Mom who bravely braved the winter here, and is responsible for us driving around āBig Herbieā which was such a blessing! Ā *shiver* I still canāt believe we were going to tent it, instead. :-/
- Vinny, who did ALL the driving on the trip, and maneuvered everywhere we went with adept, manly skill. :-)
- The many beautiful people who hosted us in their homes and driveways, and let us use their showers! Thank you – Thank you – Thank you – from the bottom of our hearts! You know who you are, and spending time with you was simply the BEST memories of our trip. (And swimming with a manatee – Vinny has to remind me that that was a close runner up). :-)
- Finally, for all my blog readers. It was your support for this travel journal that inspired me to keep up with it despite our crazy schedule and wi-fi limitations. You made it something that I really enjoyed doing! Thank you!
.
Until next timeā¦
Pamela
Hi Pam,
Glad you are back safely. Glad your time away was good too. I am living in TX near Missy to see what God has for me next.
listened to a blog from 2007 last night , the one with your finger on the drop of water. So good to hear Jay’s voice again. It made me happy, and his talk too.
I love you, Carleencarleen
Dear Carleen, I was just thinking of you, and how I miss you, and how amazing you are. May you be blessed and happy in Texas.
I love you too. -Pam
It was a joy following you on your journey thru your blog. I also love that we were your first stop and your last. You are right, very fitting. I wish the stop home wasnt under such sad circumstances but I’m so glad that you had the opportunity to visit with my dad while he was well enough.
Me too! And I look forward to the next time we are brought together…
