It’s been awhile since sharing a travel update. It seems that since we arrived in Florida over month ago now that I’ve not written as much. For some reason it’s been been a little challenging to both “hear” and find the time. We’ve been on the go a lot.
Here are some of the highlights (with a photo gallery below)
* Camping with, and/or spending time with other Creek N Wood snowbirds.
* Visiting with many of Vinny’s family here, including having his son Elijah stay with us for a few weeks
* Flying back to N.Y. to be with Mom for Christmas, and see a few people up there also
* Going to the Keys, and snorkeling at the Coral Reefs – both for the first time
* Meeting up with some other old friends at various places
* Seeing the “Coral Castle”
Finally a week ago we decided to settle down in one place for awhile and rest, and try to get our health back on track. Being on the road it’s been hard to exercise and eat as regularly and healthy as we’d like, and I’ve been very behind in general office work and bills, etc. We also needed to wait out the weather a while more, so when we start traveling again (more North and West, most likely), that we don’t run into any ice or snow. The motor home we are driving is just not cold weather capable at all! (But boy, how thankful we are for it)
In deciding where to rest, we remembered about a campground in N.Y. near us, that also has a winter one here in Florida! It’s very affordable – probably because it’s more inland, and off the beaten path. The town has one stop light, and the nearest Walmart is 45 minutes away. Two of the best restaurants in town to eat at are called “The 3 Bananas” and the “Blind Mosquito.” :-) I am happy to be here. This is a part of Florida that is not affected by tourism quite as much as the outskirts and oceanside parts, and feels more culturally enriched. We are also blessed because I have an Uncle and Aunt who live in this town too, and at least a couple more nearby that we may see soon. We’ve been able to hang with them and do things, and they’ve been awesome to us. We are also hoping to convince my Uncle to play the Ticket To Ride board game with us before our stay is up. :-)
Anyway, I just wanted to share this update. Love and hugs to everyone up North!

Wow, you two have been so busy making memories. Love all the pics. They really add to your blog. What area are you heading to next? Snows just beginning in northeast Pa so don’t hurry back yet. Love to you all! Crissy
Hi Crissy! Sorry for being so long in responding here. I am having problems getting notifications of new comments. I think I may have fixed the problem. We are still in Florida, but planning on getting back on the road shortly! Not to come home yet… that ain’t gonna happen just yet :-)
